From here you have a special view of the hills of the northern Black Forest. Not only recommended for climbing but also for enjoyment hiking. Between the rocks there are always small paths connecting the upper and lower rock path. Sure-footedness is required there. It certainly will not be boring.

Climbing on the Battertfelsen in Baden-Baden
The Battertfelsen are the most important climbing area in the Black Forest. The location above Baden-Baden is unique for sport climbing. The mountaineering development on the Battertfelsen began around 1885 by Wilhelm Paulcke, then a student at the Hohenbaden High School in Baden-Baden. Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Paulcke later became known as a geologist, ski pioneer and avalanche researcher. In the decades that followed until today, a large number of routes were climbed. Well-known names such as Martin Schliessler, Bernd Kullmann, Reinhard Karl and Ralf Dujmovits have left their mark on the Battertfelsen. Today sport climbing is in III.-IX. possible. The "Battert" rock is made of porphyry and the walls are up to 60 meters high. Most of the climbing is on the massifs between the "Baden wall" and the "Three stops".The most difficult climbing point on the Battert at the moment is "The Block" with a difficulty of 10 to 10. The bouldering block was first started by Wolfgang Widder in 1989 and repeated in 1995 by Alex Wenner.
