Waffenhammer goes back to a former hammer forge. It was built in 1829 by the master blacksmiths Georg Christoph Deubner and Johann Nicol Deubner. In 1850, the gunsmith Georg Albrecht Illing acquired it, whose descendants ran it until around 1912. In contrast to the iron hammers, where mainly iron was produced, devices, weapons and tools were manufactured in the hammer forges.
