The Gendarmenmarkt is one of the most beautiful squares in Berlin. It is dominated by three monumental buildings: the German Cathedral, the French Cathedral and the Konzerthaus (formerly Schauspielhaus). The changing history of the Gendarmenmarkt can be traced back to the 17th century - and every single historical phase has left its mark today.

The German and French Dome and in the middle of the concert hall are really a beautiful ensemble on the Gendarmenmarkt. You can climb the French Cathedral for a small fee and you have a great view of the city.

One of the most beautiful places in Berlin, wonderful on early Sunday morning, when nothing is going on and you have the place almost to yourself.
