Tips
One of seven locks on the Rhine-Herne Canal. Until 1967, the then non-self-propelled barges were decoupled from the canal tug and pulled by a tow locomotive through the lock chamber. The locks were needed to overcome the height differences of the canal. The lock process is always fascinating.

A beer trolley and seating have recently been added. It remains to be seen whether it will become established. On my tour today I drank a cyclist there. It was nice and cold ;-)
