In the middle of the 17th century there must have been a chapel in the square of today's Trinity Church, in which the lords of the adjacent Lisberg Castle were buried. The current church was built between 1729 and 1756 and was in the possession of the respective owners of the castle until 1979, who were responsible for the maintenance of the church. Parts of the old wall paintings can still be seen inside the church. Particularly impressive is the "Lisberger Madonna", probably created around the end of the 18th century, an oversized sculpture that originally came from the old Dominican church in Bamberg. A priest brought the Madonna to Lisberg after the Dominican monastery in Bamberg was dissolved. Source: Lisberg municipality

Together with the castle, the gleaming white local church forms a very harmonious overall ensemble on the castle hill of Lisberg.
