Schloss Seggau is more than a castle: like a small town, it lies on a gentle hill in the middle of the southern Styrian wine region. Hotel Schloss Seggau has been known as a destination for decades. The Seggau Castle is located on a forested hill above the city of Leibnitz and offers a wide view of the Sulm Valley and across the Mur plain to Slovenia. Parts of the complex were used by the Salzburg archbishops in the 12th century as a mission and administrative station for the colonization of Styria. Today you will find a modern congress and seminar center, a hotel, a 300-year-old wine cellar and a castle tavern in the Seggau Castle.
