De Vrouw Johanna Windmill

One of the few, very well-preserved mills in Emden. Events sometimes take place here in summer.

An integral part of the Rote Mühle is to encourage children to be aware of their environment and to learn to appreciate it. This is done on the one hand by caring for the animals living on the kindergarten (goats and rabbits) and looking after the wild animals on the wall (hedgehogs and birds). On the other hand, the large garden and the greenhouse offer a variety of options for planting, caring for and harvesting flowers, herbs, vegetables and fruit.

Spend the night in the former miller's house of the "Vrouw Johanna Mühle". The guest house is located on the idyllic ramparts in the immediate vicinity of the Paddle & Pedal station and the picturesque city canals. 10 minutes walk to downtown. There are two double rooms with 6 sleeping possibilities each (1 double bed each + 4 "socket beds"), kitchen and bathroom with shower. Parking is available directly at the Johanna Mühle.
