Pferdskopf Observation Tower

When the weather is nice, you really have a great view, even as far as the Feldberg. A worthwhile ascent, which leads over 163 steps to the top of the tower. A look down makes some people feel a little queasy, but the wonderful view compensates for the effort.

34 meters high is the lookout tower on the 662 meter high horse's head. The climb is worth it: from the top you have a fantastic view. An information board shows you what you can see in the distance. Benches around the tower invite you to take a break.

At the top of the Pferdskopf (662 m above sea level) there is an observation tower that is one of the most popular in the entire Taunus. Those who climb the numerous steps of the wooden tower and reach the top of the impressive construction at approx. 34 m will be rewarded with a spectacular view. Benches at the observation tower invite hikers and cyclists to rest before continuing their tour.
History:
The 18 m high steel structure was built in 1895 and was demolished in the 1960s. The current tower, with its open timber frame construction, was rebuilt in 1987 by the then surrounding area Frankfurt.
