South of the Großer Falkenstein, an inconspicuous summit cross adorns the 1,145 meter high summit of the Schwarzbachriegel. It is popularly known as the vulture's nest. The view into the dizzying depths is more than impressive. Your eagle eye can see the high landscape of the Schachten up to the radar station on the Czech side as well as the picturesque peaks of the Scheuereckberg, Fahnenriegel, Rachels and Kiesrucks.
When planning your trip, however, remember that to protect endangered animal and plant species, a hike here is only possible between July 15th and November 15th.
