Many hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty open up the hiking area around the Großer Falkenstein (1,315 meters).
One of the most spectacular but also the most arduous ascents is the path over the impressive Höllbachgspreng. In the middle of a magnificent rock formation springs a waterfall and crashes in several waterfalls and rivulets down into the valley. The trail continues through a unique jungle landscape and rocky areas in the middle of the Bavarian Forest National Park.
For the somewhat difficult ascent you will be rewarded with a wonderful view from the summit - to the Great Arber, the king of the Bavarian Forest, and the holiday region National Park Bavarian Forest.
For less experienced hikers also easy to walk paths lead up to the summit of the Great Falkenstein with its artistic summit cross.
And a stop at the tavern is just part of it. ;-)

Beautiful mountain, one of the big peaks in the Bavarian Forest. If the visibility is good, you can look up to the Alps, of course, otherwise you have a great view of the other peaks of the Bavarian Forest (e.g. the Great Arber). Since there are many different beautiful paths up and down, the tour here is never boring and the summit is very beautiful with the view.
