      A representative building.

The building was extensively renovated in 1999 to become the headquarters of the Bad Köstritz city administration with a ballroom, an attractive wedding room and the “Julius Sturm memorial room”.

At the beginning of the reign of the Reuß-Schleiz younger line in Köstritz, this property came into the count's possession. After the major fire of 1779, the new baroque PALACE was built on the site as a representative residence for members of the count's family.

The palace was originally a representative residence of Rerussian family members, and from 1824 was owned by Christian Deegen, (founder of German dahlia breeding), from the Rudolf Zersch family, tenants of the Princely Reussian Estates and the Princely Brewery.

Classical concerts take place every month in the ballroom of the baroque Köstritzer Palais. The concert hall has 100 seats in the hall and another 25 in the gallery. The ceiling is designed with dahlia motifs based on hand-colored Köstritz catalogs from the mid-19th century.
