The historic complex of Wissem Castle in an aesthetically pleasing location is a popular destination for the whole family.
Wissem Castle is Troisdorf's landmark. The history of the former free aristocratic court complex "Wisheim/Wiesheim/Wyssem/Weißheimb" goes back to the Merovingian period (500-700 AD).
It was a castle and fortification surrounded by moats and the ancestral seat of the Lords of Troisdorf (Truhtesdorf). The first written evidence dates back to 1474.

The Wissem Castle, formerly known as a free aristocratic and parliamentary farm “Wiesheim”, is a castle in Troisdorf-Mitte. The courtyard, originally built as a moated castle, dates back to the Carolingian era.

The portal is an information center and is located on the ground floor of the new building of Wissem Castle. The tourist office is also located here. The picture book museum is opposite in the moated castle.
