The figure of the storm-blown man with his useless umbrella on the Steinwarder promenade in Heiligenhafen brings a smile to the faces of residents and visitors to the city again and again and is a popular photo opportunity. The stylized and greatly simplified depiction of the larger than life man is reminiscent of slapstick-like comics or simple stick figures. The bent posture vividly captures the strange situation.

Art blacksmith Heiko Voss originally created the rust-red steel figure for an exhibition in Schönberg, where it is on permanent loan to this day. Since people in Heiligenhafen were also enthusiastic about the work of art, a second version was created for the promenade, which could be purchased and installed with the help of generous donations.
