Njörd statue in Heiligenhafen

Njörd is a Germanic water god. He is the patron god of sailors and fishermen. His favorite animal is the swan.
The new statue is made of wood. In contrast to the previous statue, which was made of metal, it is not susceptible to rust.

The former statue was made entirely of scrap metal, retaining its original form but repurposed entirely for its intended purpose. Old sheet metal, discarded screws, gears, transmission parts, and spark plugs were built around a tubular frame and carefully welded.The figure also received a special coating to protect it from weather damage.Njörd is the patron god of sailors and fishermen.
