A map from 1609 shows Pesch as "Besch". The name of the place can probably be derived from pascuum, the Latin word for willow. In the 17th century, Pesch was surrounded by large pastures and consisted of four farmsteads. The most important was the Krisch or Kriegshof, the court buildings of which are still preserved today.
