Mountain Biking Highlight
A trip to the Hummelsee is worthwhile if only because you have a good view of the whole of Hamburg from the garbage dump.In special years, you can also go ice skating. Even if caution is required. Why, however, spring photos were added to an ice skating highlight is not clear to me. ;-)

The lake, about eight hectares in size and up to nine meters deep, was created in 1982. In the 1960s, a sand and gravel pit was created in the Hummelsbüttler Feldmark. In the early 1970s, more sand pits were added.
After the end of the dredging, the pits were backfilled, i. H. used as a landfill. One of the pits remained partially open. The area in question formed the basis for the creation of the Hummelsee. Today the lake is used as a local recreation area. There are green landfill areas at its edge.
Different types of fish can be found in the Hummelsee. The lake is one of the leased waters of the Angelsport-Verband Hamburg e. V..wikipedia.org / wiki / Hummelsee_ (Hamburg)
