Lovingly restored and, as the nice ladies from the local history society told me, the location is often used for weddings. In the basement there is a large generator that is driven by water power via a large flywheel or turbine and feeds electricity into the grid.

Coffee and cake as well as sandwiches are also available on the days it is open. A really worthwhile stopover or interim destination - but always keep an eye on the opening times.
