The classic climb to the Rax plateau (and many other routes) takes you to the central Otto-Schutzhaus. A legend and definitely worth a visit. Right behind the house is the Jakobskogel, which is worth climbing just for the wonderful view.

The named after Archduke Otto Schutzhaus is located northeast of the Jakobskogel (1737 m), a survey on the Raxplateau. East of it is the Alpine Garden Rax, where the picturesque Felsentörl is located (Törlweg). From the mountain station of the Raxseilbahn, the refuge over the Raxplateau can be reached in an almost level location, even for inexperienced hikers with a walking time of about half an hour on foot.
