    Hiking

Here springs the Spirkelbach, which continues to flow through the eponymous village and flows into the Queich. Here in the Middle Ages the border point of the approx. 5000 ha large Pirmansbezirk was. The Knight Stone is part of the Mount of the Source. There is a legend that says that St. Pirminius was able to baptize people even in winter, because the water never froze here.

The fountain's name stone is also one of the Palatinate Forest Association's more than 300 knight's stones.
There is some water in the fountain, but you can't hear any splashing or rushing water (as of March 2023). From the rest bench next to the fountain you have a beautiful view of Spirkelbach and a large meadow.
