Steep forest-covered hill on an island surrounded by artificial Stow Lake in the middle of Golden Gate Park. Some partially obstructed city views from the top. Rarely visited, so a great observation spot for owls and other shy birds.

A bikeable forest road winds its way around to the top of the hill, standing almost perfectly round at the center of Stow Lake. Several narrow single tracks lead down to all sides, some offering better views of the city skyline and the park than the very top through the tall Monterey Cypress trees. At the right time of the year look out for owls nesting and raising their young.
