The Hamburger Hallig bears its name after two Hamburg merchants, the Amsinck brothers - who acquired and embanked part of the former island of Strand in the 17th century.

If you love the north and the Wadden Sea National Park, this is the right place for you. The bike ride through the salt marshes is fun. Many water birds can be seen here. If you would like to take a swim in the North Sea, you can do so at the bathing area. There is also a restaurant with a good offer.

Great restaurant at the end of a long way.
I would advise against going here on foot and also the drivers were advised to rent a bike on the mainland parking lot.

It's a nice hike on foot, even if the way there and back are the same. The perspective does it. When the tide is high, the Hallig is a very nice swimming area, but there is no sandy beach. The bank on the west side of the Krog is an insider tip.

Hamburg-Hallig is no longer an island since it was connected to the mainland by a dam in 1860. Today it joins the dike foreland with the upstream salt marshes in front of the Sönke-Nissen-Koog.

An easy tour with beautiful nature. The Almsickhaus, BND hut and the Krog are worth a visit, and you can also go swimming.

Every day from 11 o'clock the nature park restaurant Hallig Krog opens the doors for the hungry guests. Chef Erik Brack - who has also cooked on the ZDF dream ship - attaches particular importance to regional products in his dishes.

The trip is not worth it because of the restaurant. That's fine, but what I experienced there with a waffle order was unique.
                      So forewarned!

The Hamburg Hallig was created after the "Great Mandränke" in 1634. The former Koog was diked by two Hamburg merchants who also gave the Koog their name. When the dike was lost in the 17th century, the Hamburg Hallig was born.

In 1875 the Hallig was connected to the mainland by a 4 km long dike.
Since then, the dam has silted up ever more extensively and a species-rich flora and fauna has developed. With the national park rangers, guided tours can also be undertaken in the Wadden Sea. Afterwards there is the possibility to examine exciting finds more closely in the Wattwerkstatt. The Hallig offers an indescribable view of the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea. Since it is very central, you also have a clear view of almost all other Halligen in the Wadden Sea.
After enjoying the view, the rustic Hallig-Krog inn invites you to a typical regional snack in the spring and summer months. The Hallig-Krog is also the only building on the Hallig.

The idyllic Hamburg Hallig offers an extensive natural beach in the salt marshes. Since the beach is in the middle of the Wadden Sea National Park, there is only a bathing time of approx. 3 hours before and after the tide.

The small Hallig can be reached very easily on foot or by bike. Bicycles are available from the Amsinck House, which is right in front of the Hamburger Hallig. In addition to an exciting exhibition on the culture, nature and history of the Hamburg Hallig and Central North Friesland, the Amsinck House also offers a motorhome parking space.

The detour to the Hallig is really worth it, as there is plenty of nature, a queen bee breeding facility, a climate experiment and wonderful places to take a break. If you want, you can rent a bike "on land"
