Location: Gommiswald, See-Gaster, St. Gallen, Eastern Switzerland, Switzerland
The name derives from the name Zion for the city of Jerusalem. Uetliburg has been a pilgrimage site since the Middle Ages due to its location on the pilgrimage route to Maria Bildstein and Einsiedeln. 1761 was founded by the initiative of the priest Josef Helg (1721-1787). Berg Sion is the only monastery of the Premonstratensian order in Switzerland that is still operated as such.
Large, still operated women's monastery, founded in 1761. Late Baroque, partly Rococo.

Premonstratensian monastery, Gem. Gommiswald SG, on a promising hill spur above the Gaster. Founded in 1761 by clergyman Josef Helg on the pilgrimage route.
The building complex is very large and elongated, but due to the many closed shutters, some things seem to be uninhabited.
