After long efforts of the local Innsbruck mountain bikers, the Nordketten singletrack was built. He is considered one of the heaviest trails in the world. On 15 July 1927, the construction of the aerial tramway by the company Adolf Bleichert & Co. from Leipzig-Gohlis, the world's leading cable car construction company, began on 9 July 1928, the first, 2,885 m long section Hungerburg Seegrube ( 1905 m above sea level). On 21 July of the same year, the second, upper, 752 m long section Seegrube-Hafelekar was opened.
