Saalbach is one of the oldest crossings of the upper Saale, the original ford was later replaced by a footbridge.
In 1875 this footbridge was again extended by a covered wooden bridge, which was destroyed in 1945 by order of German troops.
Nice that since 2004 you can change banks again with the construction of this bridge.

The bridge with the metal grid is unfavorable for dog paws and bicycle tires.
The story behind the bridge is tragic. Large panels introduce the history of the former Gut Saalbach.
