Saalbach Bridge

-Built in 2004-2005
-Until the division of Germany, there was a covered wooden bridge here
-after the turn of 1989-1991 raft operation
-from 1991 - 2003 wooden footbridge
-The inauguration took place in May 2005 with the presence of the 3 daughters of the former landowner
-connects Pottiga with Rudolphstein, the municipality of Rosenthal am Rennsteig with the municipality of Berg and thus the Saale-Orla district (Thuringia) with the district of Hof (Bavaria)
-was funded with funds from the Free State of Thuringia and the European Union as part of the Leader Plus community initiative for the development of rural areas

Saalbach is one of the oldest crossings of the upper Saale, the original ford was later replaced by a footbridge.
In 1875 this footbridge was again extended by a covered wooden bridge, which was destroyed in 1945 by order of German troops.
Nice that since 2004 you can change banks again with the construction of this bridge.

The bridge with the metal grid is unfavorable for dog paws and bicycle tires.
