Location: Pottiga, Saale-Orla-Kreis, Vogtland, Saxony, Germany
-was a former district of Pottiga, was first mentioned in a document in 1389.
-1711 the name "Saalbach" was adopted.
-1809 acquired by the von Koch family.
-1843 Saalbach had 6 houses with about 40 inhabitants.
-Saalbach was a popular excursion destination with a pub.
-1952 the residents were forcibly evacuated.
-1955 to 1960 demolished due to border security measures
- Today only a few foundation walls are visible

Also of interest here is the Koch family's crypt, which for understandable reasons cannot be entered.
Like many border towns that belonged to Germany before the war, including on the Czech side, Saalbach, which even had a pub and its own beer, was razed to the ground because of its proximity to the border and because of the iron curtain after the residents were forcibly resettled.
It's nice that nowadays you can go where you want without any difficulties.
