Events and exhibitions are regularly held in the water castle. It is one of the most popular photo motifs in Bad Rappenau. Koi and water turtles can be found in the surrounding lake.

The imposing, listed moated castle is one of the special attractions in Bad Rappenau. The three-storey building, located in a beautiful park, was built in 1601 in place of an old moated castle. The neat late Renaissance portal on the stair tower is particularly worth seeing, the upper part of which is adorned with a portrait of the client made of sandstone. Beneath the bust of the knight is the Gemmingen-Rodenstein alliance coat of arms executed in rich stone carving. The castle is surrounded by the castle lake, which is fed from the Mühlbach. When the sun is shining, you can often see the turtles that live in the castle lake while sunbathing.

The three-storey building, located in a beautiful park on Babstadter Strasse, was completed in 1601 by Eberhard von Gemmingen on the site of an old moated castle. The building stands on oak tree trunks driven into the ground. The castle lake is fed by the Mühlbach, which flows nearby and is culverted.
