Westbahnhof Outdoor Fitness Trail

The movement course is on the site of the former Westbahnhof. Here are some devices built in birch grove next to the rails.

The multi-generational park / movement course forms the third "green building block" in the open space Westbahnhof between Broitzemer Straße and Hugo-Luther Straße. After the concepts of the youth square and “garden without borders” are aimed specifically at young people and older people, the third large open space that has now been designed appeals to a wide range of users, i.e. it contains cross-generational offers.In order to implement this idea, the intervention in the available space was extremely careful. The relics of railway history: existing tracks, the loading gauge and signaling systems were preserved, uncovered and revised (painting of the loading gauge and scales by "Work and Profession"). The birch grove on the former railway ballast will continue to shape this place in the long run.The elements of the movement parcours are linked to a new path, which was run as a "new track" in a water-bound construction next to the existing railway tracks.
In terms of requirements, the movement elements are aimed at people with no previous knowledge or skills, up to people who are already well trained.
