1893, a week after Easter, the Catholic Church of St. Mary - St. Vicelin was inaugurated in Neumünster. 300 years after the Reformation there was again a Catholic priest in the city. This had become necessary because the Diaspora community had skyrocketed.The church was built by architect Emil Brettschneider in neo-Romanesque style. She was spared from the effects of war and was extensively renovated for the first time in 1965.
