Bike Touring Highlight
Schloss Heessen is a state-certified boarding school in Hamm (NRW). A full-time school where we maintain a family community and support the individual personality development of our international students. Clear structures determine the operation of our all-day school - from lessons in small classes on the leisure activities to the "light off" in the evening. The leisure facilities at boarding school LSH Heessen are extensive and varied - starting with the school's internal AGs on joint cinema and theater visits in Hamm and North Rhine-Westphalia to evening events for the senior students of our private school (dart tournaments, house concerts, etc.). The boarding school promotes the performance of all pupils. Individual learning concepts are developed together with all teachers of the private school - not only during the lessons, but also in the form of tutoring in the afternoon up to evening study. Other supporting measures complement the support at our all-day school in Heessen: Be it, special courses in reading spelling weakness, rhetoric seminars on the weekend and other offers for individual students or in group lessons for small classes. A respectful, open communication between students, teachers and other employees at the boarding school forms the basis for all solutions at our all-day school in Hamm / NRW. We support all students at the LSH Heessen to integrate into the group and take responsibility for their own actions.

As interesting as the property and the surroundings are, it is clearly noticeable that as a visitor there is really nothing to do. Finally, today's use as a school and a possible use for tourism purposes can hardly be reconciled.

Heessen Castle is a palace complex located on the lip in the Heessen district of Hammer and the most famous knight's seat in the area of today's city of Hamm. The typical features of a large Westphalian moated castle have been preserved in the architectural complex. Between the river and the Lippe, the castle and the buildings of the outer bailey face each other in an elongated oval. The three-winged main building is made of brick over the remains of centuries-old castle walls made of limestone and, as the most striking component, has a tower, the two gables of which rise over 30 meters.
