During the air raids on Koblenz in World War II, the palace complex was destroyed except for the outer walls and cellar vaults.
From 1950 to 1951 it was rebuilt from the outside according to old plans, but with a modern interior design in the style of the 1950s.
Only in the central building were the representative staircase, the vestibule, the guard room (now called the "mirror hall" or "Kurfürstensaal") and the garden hall reconstructed, the ballroom (now the "Kaisersaal") was rebuilt in historical forms, but not based on the original.(Source: Wikipedia)
