The old mill on the Vecht is still active as a traditional flour mill. Here, grains are processed into flour, flakes and mixes in an ecological way. About 5000 kilos of flour per month goes to the bakers in the area, but also to restaurants in Amsterdam. ‘You can visit the mill and see the miller’s craft up close.’ Windmill de Vriendschap is open on Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00.

Built in 1694 as a malt mill. In 1899 the original mill burned down. Only the foundation walls remained. In 1900 a mill that had previously been in Amsterdam was built on it. Since then, the new mill has been called "De Vriendschap". In 1940 De Vriendschap was sold to C. Otten, known from Otten's oil factories. After the World War, the mill was on the verge of decay, which is why it was bought by the town of Weesp in 1974, completely renovated and put back into use in 1977. Since that time the mill has been in operation again and is affiliated with Ambachtelijk Molenaar's guild. In 2010/2011 the mill was renovated again.

The mill is still in operation and is open every Saturday. (www-weesperwieken-nl.translate.goog/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=de&_x_tr_pto=wapp)

It is advisable to take pictures of the mill on the other side of the Vecht to see the mill frontally.
