    Hiking

This is where the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail crosses the Tioga Road. Most of the thruhikers walk to Tuolumne Meadows Store & Grill to get a resupply, eat well …
The crossing with Tioga road is a crucial stopover for long distance and through-hikers on the PCT, and often used as a starting point for shorter loops into the Yosemite high granite plateau. Tioga Road typically opens between Mid June and Mid July until about November, depending when it is cleared of snow. Snow might still cover the trails for another month or two, depending on location.

    Nordic walking

Here the long distance Pacific Crest Trail, on its way between Mexico and Canada, crosses Tioga Road, with popular and convenient break options to hitchhike and explore the more developed portions of Yosemite National Park, and resupply on food and gear.
