In Wulkow near Neuhardenberg, the castle, which belonged to the noble family von Scharpeloh from the 13th century and changed hands frequently up to the Second World War, was used as a hospital, refugee home and also for training courses in various combines during the GDR era.
In 1992 the castle was acquired by a family of hoteliers and restored for 8 million DM. A hotel with 48 rooms, a restaurant and leisure facilities was created. Located on the edge of Märkische Schweiz, the most beautiful weddings can be celebrated there, with a champagne reception in the banquet hall or in the historic library.
