The Monte Rosa hut is also called “rock crystal” thanks to its shape and shimmering aluminum shell. After six years of planning, the innovative, self-sufficient building was opened in 2010. Located at 2,883 meters, the unique wooden building offers a fantastic view of the Gorner Glacier, the Matterhorn and other peaks.

I was still in 2005 at the old Monte Rosa hut, with a great view of the Gorner Glacier and the Matterhorn. The sunsets and sunsets are legendary.
