Very nice for hiking. The Nemitzer Heide is a 550 acres of heathland in the Elbhöhen-Wendland Nature Park, which lies between the towns of Nemitz, Trebel and Prezelle.

Hiking

The Nemitzer Heide is a beautiful and relatively large heathland area in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district. During the heather bloom, it is not nearly as crowded with tourists as in most areas of the Lüneburg Heath.
Since most of the paths consist of very soft sand, I recommend hiking the heather on foot, as most of the paths are hardly, if not impossible, passable by bike. I usually park my bike at the Nemitzer Heidehaus and then continue on foot from there,
