El Greco Museum

The building was erected at the beginning of the 20th century, taking advantage of an earlier one from the 16th century and a Renaissance palace to bring together, in the same space, the scattered work of the artist. The Marquis de la Vega-Inclán was the one who acquired these buildings and complemented them with furniture and fixtures from the 16th century. The museum opened in 1912.

Inside is part of El Greco's work, of which a magnificent "apostolate", the "View and Plan of Toledo" and "The Tears of Saint Peter" stand out. The museum is completed with paintings by Luis Tristán, Murillo, Valdés Leal and other artists.

Today, his museum is housed in a magnificent villa that was mistaken for the house of the painter "El Greco". Here is a set of the Twelve Apostles, one of which is in the sacristy of the cathedral.
