On January 9, 1887, the church was inaugurated by the superintendent Michael and was from then on for the inhabitants of Schönau and Neustadt (at that time there was this district still open).
When renamed 1936 Luther Church had the communities Schönau and Neustadt over 7000 inhabitants. Despite major damage caused by destruction in World War II, the church still shines today in its beautiful splendor.
