Until 1982 basalt was mined in the Dietesheim quarries. Since then, a magnificent lake landscape has emerged there, which is not only attractive for walkers and cyclists, but also offers a refuge as a nature reserve to numerous rare animal and plant species.

very nice tour with single trails around the quarries and in Dörnigheim. Good traffic even if it is wet. The end of the tour from Dörnigheim is still optimizable. The path goes from high fir on the road to Hochstadt
