The Nollen (also: Nole) is a hill in the municipality of Wuppenau in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. It has a height of 735 meters and lies on a plateau between the Thurtal in Thurgau and St. Gallen.
Its all-round view of Lake Constance, the Alps and the Hegau makes it a popular excursion destination in the region. It is also known as “the Rigi of Thurgau”. It used to be important as a triangulation point.
The name Nollen comes from the Old High German word “hnol” or “chnol”, which means something like tubers. Its gentle curves are more reminiscent of a bulb than a mountain.
