Überlingen (in the Lake Constance dialect Iberlinge dialect) is a town on the northern shore of Lake Constance. It is after the county town of Friedrichshafen, the second largest city in the Lake Constance district and a center for the surrounding communities. The city was from 1939 to 1972 county seat of the former administrative district Überlingen. Since January 1, 1993 Überlingen is a large district town.
