Shortly before you could admire the ruins of an old mill on the route. At the waterfall, the path climbs up steps. The levada used to be called "Grande Levada". It collects the water from the plateau and leads it down into the valley. If you follow the levada to the end of the path, you will not only pass impressive forest passages but also other waterfalls. The "murmur" of the water is meditative. Listen to the birds and enjoy the time. Attention after heavy rains the levada can overflow in some places. The path is then muddy and the red clay soil becomes soapy and slippery.
