Everyone who is a guest in Cuxhaven, no matter whether they are holiday makers or hikers, knows the Kugelbake at the Elbe estuary near Cuxhaven-Döse. It is the landmark of the city and can also be found in the city coat of arms. From here you can watch the outgoing and incoming container giant excellent.

The classic and the landmark in Cuxhaven! You have to take with you in any case! Here, the shipping lane leads past the Port of Hamburg. You can watch large container ships or luxury steamer and seals are not uncommon to see!

Nice view of Cuxhaven. Here you can watch the passing ocean giants (of course the smaller ships as well). Most impressive is the amount of ships passing here.

The Kugelbake is the landmark of the city of Cuxhaven. The 29 m high naval mark was once used by the sailors as a guide. For the emigrants who left Cuxhaven for America, the Kugelbake was "the last corner before America."

The Kugelbake is a visitor magnet. It attracts everyone. From here you can see the big pots driving down the Elbe

The famous beacon here has a centuries-long history and is therefore not the first of its kind at this location. Destroyed several times by storm surges and other catastrophes, it still marks the border or the transition from the Elbe to the open sea. In terms of maritime technology, however, modern control systems have long since taken on their "job".

When you are in Cuxhaven it is simply a part of being at the Kugelbarken. I did my rounds there as a child and I'm still drawn here today.

The Kugelbake is a wooden navigation mark in Cuxhaven. Measured from the mean high tide to the center of the small sphere, its height is 28.4 m. The term beacon goes back to the Middle Ages, when all navigation signs - including lighthouses - were so called. It is the symbol of Cuxhaven and has been featured in the city's coat of arms since 1913.

The Kugelbake is the symbol of Cuxhaven. It is located in the Cuxhaven-Döse spa area and is one of the most popular destinations for holidaymakers. As the northernmost point in Lower Saxony, the Kugelbake used to be a beacon for shipping. However, the development of modern radar technology replaced the ball beacon. Nevertheless, it still marks a monument worth seeing. The Kugelbake still marks the transition from the Elbe to the North Sea and also the last reference point at home for the people who emigrated to America.urlaub-in-cuxhaven.de/cuxhaven/markenzeichen-kugelbake

It is great. Kugelbake BBC even during storm surge. You can't go all the way there, flooded and the spray sometimes splashes over the path, but the whole thing is very impressive.

The Kugelbake simply means home. Here it is usually very windy and big pots can also be admired. There is a level path to the beacon and at the end large blocks are built as a foundation, so there is then very uneven and often with puddles.
