The Hinterm Horn lake is located in the southeast of Hamburg in the Vier- und Marschlanden, south of Neuallermöhe in Bergedorf. The groundwater-fed lake was created between 1978 and 1982 by removing sand for the construction of the motorway and the elevation of the Neuallermöhe terrain.
On the northwestern bank there is a swimming area with a sandy beach and a 20 meter wide lawn. There is no separate non-swimmer area.
Attention: There are edges near the bank where the water suddenly becomes very deep. This is typical of a quarry pond. There is no lifeguard.
