Winery located on the red wine hiking trail in a former monastery.
Very good gastronomy in the inner courtyard. Ideal to take a little break.
The Marienthal monastery ruins were once the oldest monastery on the Ahr. The history goes back to the year 1137, when it was the house monastery of the Counts of Saffenberg, who had their seat in Saffenburg across from Mayschoß.

Today the monastery ruins serve as an event location and house the Marienthal Monastery winery. Located directly on the red wine hiking trail, it is worth stopping for a break. With a good glass of wine and one of the popular tarte flambée, you can recover from the hike and strengthen yourself for the next stage. The terrace in the courtyard, which offers a great view of the remains of the monastery and the vineyards, is particularly popular in summer and autumn.

Very nice place to take a break from hiking. The tarte flambée and Federweißer are an absolute highlight
