In former times "Stubensand" was mined here which was then used in the Quedlinburg houses to clean the stone and wooden floors. From this time also comes a small cave at the eastern end of the sandstone edge. This cave can be entered - but you should be aware that this is associated with a certain risk because many stones hang quite loosely over the head!
