The Drüsensee is a forest lake in the Lauenburg Lake District in the southeast of Schleswig-Holstein. The lake got its peculiar name from the "Drüsen" estate in the northeast.The lake is about four kilometers south of the city of Mölln, but belongs to the municipality of Lehmrade in the Gudow-Sterley district, in the district of the Duchy of Lauenburg. In the north it connects to the Hellbachtal valley south of Mölln.
The Drüsensee is about 2 km long, up to 450 m wide and has an area of 73 ha. The mean lake level is 14 m above sea level. NN. It is only 8 m deep and shows silting forms in some peripheral areas, which are evident from the reeds near the banks. It is fed by the Hellbach, which gets its water from Lake Sarnekower near Gudow. In the middle of the lake there is a small and uninhabited island, the Bismarck Island.
The lake is a nature reserve and is located in the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park. Driving on the lake with pleasure boats is not allowed. The lake, which is mostly surrounded by forest areas, is popular with hikers, joggers, bikers, anglers and horse riders as a local recreation area.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr%C3%BCsensee
