After Travemünde planned the beach station and a villa colony in 1897, an English-style garden was designed. this is how the Godewindpark was created. At the south end is the Lübeck - Travemünde Strand train station. The park stands on the Gnevesdorfer Feldmark ridge and is 3-6 m above sea level. The boggy meadows were converted into a pond system and the soil obtained was used to fill the meadows. In 2000 the park was redesigned with new seating, steel pergolas and the steel butterfly bridge. Area 2.1 ha
