Bike Touring Highlight
The single-track railway line from Kiel to Flensburg crosses the waterway Schlei at Lindaunis. The route is run there along with the national road L 283 on a common road and rail bridge over the loop. The bridge was built in 1924 and can be passed through as a bascule bridge from the shipping traffic. Rail and road traffic - regulated by traffic lights - share the existing carriageway. For pedestrians and cyclists are currently narrow emergency walkways available. If a train crosses the bridge, cars, pedestrians and cyclists have to wait. In addition, vehicles can only ever pass the bridge in one direction.
