In September 1996, the Ipsheim Wine Hiking Trail "Burg Hoheneck", which includes the entire vineyard trails, was officially opened with the 1st Wine Hiking Day. With this novelty in the Franconian wine region, hikers and fans of Franconian wine wanted to appeal equally.
Hikers can choose between three differently colored routes in the 35 hectare vineyard area. A six-kilometer hiking route leads around the entire vineyard (duration approx. 1½ hours). The easy hiking route covers four kilometers and has no major climbs. You can also choose any routes on the nine-kilometer-long, well-developed vineyard trails.
