Hoheneck Castle is a medieval castle above Ipsheim. Since 1984, the youth castle has served as an educational center for the Nuremberg City District Youth Council. The hilltop castle is located at 410 m above sea level, high above the Aischtal. To the east of the castle lie the extensive Franconian Heights forests of the Hoheneck Forest, at the foot of which is one of the few wine-growing regions in Middle Franconia (Middle Franconian Bocksbeutelstraße).
